Before you visit connaught place next time, here's what to keep in mind!

Connaught place, As you all know is one of the most important hubs in the City of Delhi, will be undergoing major changes.

As we know, Delhi is going to be a Smart-City.

Under this project, Connaught Place will be made vehicle-free for three months starting from Feb.

Well, his main aim seems to be to curb black money and make India a Smarter and digitally literate country.

According to a report published by NDTV, The Government of India won’t allow buses and cars into Connaught place from February 2017 as it’s focusing on reducing traffic congestion and lowering the pollution levels in the area.

Edward Lutyens in 1933 constructed it, and presently it continues to be a major hangout spot for people of all ages.

What Authorities Say:

When approached, Union Minister of Urban Development, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that they have plans to develop Sidewalk cafes, Developing small rivers and can be made as a hub for street festivals and carnivals.

He also says that this move to ban vehicles will ensure a “congestion free and accident-free” experience to all its visitors.
