Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev is one of the most famous yoga teachers in India and abroad.
Remember the fight between left-wing and right-wing groups? It was on the issue of chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. Few people like Owaisi denied chanting it and made explicit statements like “Won’t chant even if a knife is put to my throat”.
Baba Ramdev gave a befitting reply to Owaisi’s statements saying: “ he would behead lakhs of people refusing to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai if he weren’t bound by the law”.
Following his statements, a complaint was filed against Baba by Congress party leader Subhash Batra for making this statement. Baba failed to appear in court two times, following which a non-bailable warrant has been issued against him.
A case has been filed against him under IPC Sections 504 for ‘intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace’ and under 506 for ‘punishment for criminal intimidation’.
