The Telecom industry is always in the news now, thanks to Jio. It has become more affordable right now. Not exactly affordable but FREE!
Gone were those days when we used to count every MB of data. Due to this Free Data – Free calls Initiative dubbed as Happy New Year offer, other telecom operators have come into big trouble. They are losing customers, and their stocks are always down.
All the companies are trying their best to tackle Jio by lowering their prices, and few went an extra step blocking numbers from Jio.
Vodafone has now approached the court. They’ve filed a case against Jio. They’re approaching TRAI and allege that Jio has violated rules laid down by Department of Telecommunications (DoT) which prevents a telecom operator from launching predatory offers.
TRAI has already received many complaints on Jio by none other than Airtel.
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva will handle the case, and he has announced the date of hearing to be the first of February. If Vodafone wins this case, Jio has to scrap its new year offer.
Let’s sit back and wait for the Verdict.
