Stilt houses are the houses raised on wet soil or on a body of water. Stilt houses use wood to engrave a foundation in the ground and are built for many reasons such as protection against floods, building on even grounds and to ventilate underneath the house. But sometimes people just do it to enhance the house design and beauty. These are commonly found in countries like Indonesia.
Houseboats
A houseboat is a result of man’s imagination and the need of moving with their belongings from time to time due to the threat to their life by floods. Due to the needs, the houseboats came into existence which consists of a boat modified like a house. The Houseboat phenomenon is very common in countries like Australia and many people make a living out of houseboats too.

Mudhif are made by Arabs in southern Iraq. The people who build these houses are also known as Madan and they construct Mudhifs with reeds which are created from marsh wasteland. These houses are retained by native sheikhs and these are used for marriages or cremations.
Mud Houses
Mud houses are created in places where the expenses of brick or other type of homes require cannot be arranged. Mud houses have an array of features like low production cost and the natural materials used are heat conductors in winters and vice versa so people living inside feel cooler in summers and hotter in winters. These houses can be seen in large numbers in countries like Mali.
Log homes
Log homes are generally large log cabins made out of lumber. Log homes have been common in countries like Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Baltic States and Russia and are still found in large numbers in the mentioned places. These are somewhat unappreciated in some places too due to the high requirement of lumber which affects the tree count in the area.

Minka houses are a part of the rich Japanese tradition and have been around for a long time. These homes belonged to the artists, farmers and other non samurai castes in the ancient times but since this meaning doesn’t exist in the modern Japanese text, they are known as Minka houses. These homes tend to reflect the native Japanese culture with their architecture.

Probably the most loved and most appreciated residential forms in the world are skyscrapers. A building need not surpass a definite height to be called a skyscraper, but skyscrapers have a very high number of floors and they can be residential as well as commercial.
