Bill Gates praised Indian government for “using its exceptional digital capabilities”, as in launching the AAROGYA SETU app.
In his letter to Prime Minister Modi Ji, Bill Gates commends his leadership skills in fighting against the COVID-19 and the means the government is adopting to flatten the curve of Coronavirus cases in India.
The Microsoft co-founder said,” We appreciate the leadership and the measures you and your government has taken to fight against Covid-19 to flatten the curve of infection rate in India.
As in declaring a national lockdown, expanding focused testing and identifying hotspots for isolation, quarantining and care, and most importantly increasing health expenditures to build up the health system response and promote research and development department and digital innovation,” wrote Bill Gates.
He also wrote and appreciated the Indian government for utilizing its digital capabilities, like launching the Aarogya Setu App stating that it would track coronavirus patients, trace contacts, and connecting people to health services too.
He wrote that he is grateeful to notice that india is seeking to balance public health imperatives ensuring the adequate social protection for all Indians.
The Bill and Melinda Foundation is the second largest donor to the WHO behind the United States.This has also been a big help to India in time of crises.
